Songwriter/Producer                 ANDRES VILLALOBOS

Costa Rican born singer-songwriter, Andrés Villalobos, is a multi-instrumentalist living in Los Angeles. He writes and produces music in his humble home studio in Angeleno Heights as well as working alongside legends like Gus Seyfert and Carlos De La Garza.

When he isn’t writing and producing music he loves to perform as a guitarist and bassist for hire, working with singers Lisa Donnelly and Courtney Fortune and great acts like Miami Horror and Low Hum. He was also apart of the improv backing band for Sundays Poetry Night with Joseph Matick at La Paubelle.

In the LA music scene is where he met fellow space cowboys Joaquin Pastor and Patrick Logothetti to create the three headed psych-pop band,
JAMES SUPERCAVE who have recently released their second full-length record GIMMICK, on OCT 13th 2023, is a three-piece indie rock band from Los Angeles.

In Supercave Andrés has co-written and co-produced two LPs and a number of EPs. The bandhas toured extensively around the US, Mexico and Canada, headlining clubs as well as opening for Warpaint, Wild Belle, Mini Mansions, Crystal Castles and Low Hum and have shared the stage with legends like Jungle, Break Bot, and Silversun Pickups.

Andy Fonda is one of his solo alias’ where, Andrés showcases more of his mellow side and produces minimal arrangements usually written around a vocal and acoustic guitar performance. Most notably the song ‘SHINE’ was used on the show “Chicago Fire” in jan 2021. A new album is being finished now and should be out in 2024.

Then there is President Drone. A dystopian immersive experience that has to be seen live. The majority of the releases have been remixes of friends’ songs like Low Hum’s ’STRANGELOVE’ and Carre’s ‘URGENCY’. Debut albun is in the works as well as more mind bending live shows in 2024.

Aside from the solo projects, the circle of talented friends is a constant source of inspiration and collaboration. Long time friend and touring bass player in Supercave, Collin Desha is the mastermind behind the band Low Hum and the two have written a lot together. In 2021 they wrote and released a song called ‘FEVER DREAM’. Released through Last Gang/Audio Network for syncing. The song has already landed many syncs abroad and in the US. They have also collabed on two tracks for the third LP like ‘MEET ME IN THE SKY’ and ‘SWAY’.

Another notable collaboration is with French multi-instrumentalist Kevin Bedouine. Bass player in Low Hum and founding member of Les Mutants and Carré. Andrés and Keveen are working on a couple of French/spanish songs for Keveen’s next release. Even though spanish is Andrés’ first language, writing songs in his native tongue is something quite new, and also very exciting.
